Here is the recipe for Hot and Sour Soup. Ingredients are tofu, sliced mushrooms, bamboo shoot strips, wood ear and dried lily flowers (optional).
This dish goes well with Ma-Po Tofu. Bok-Choy was used but most other green vegetables can be used. Vegetarian Ham (made from soy) can be found easily at most chinese grocery stores. Read the rest of this entry »
Here is the recipe for Ma-Po Tofu. It is a nice simple dish and can be made in a very short time. You can have this with rice or by itself. If you don’t want to make it spicy then substitute regular bean sauce instead of hot bean sauce. Our first class was a lot of fun. Paul, the instructor, is great and his style is very informal. A friendly translator was available to assist him when needed. This was a very interesting class – there were no written recipes, we all took notes and pictures as we observed the instructor make the dishes.
